SHE WALKS ALONE is a solemn, short, emotional composition written for solo violin. The piece starts in the violin’s low range and with longer note durations, expressing a feeling of loneliness and despair. Then, it rhythmically accelerates with quarter and eighth notes. Triple and quadruple stops increase the intensity further. The anguish felt by the lone person is felt in the climax through the consecutive arpeggios. The piece ascends toward its highest and most vulnerable point in its conclusion.
