Thomas Yamada

Thomas Yamada is a Los Angeles-based composer writing for both the screen and the concert stage. He is attending USC and pursuing a Master of Music in Screen Scoring.

Recent media music projects include scoring the winning Coca-Cola Refreshing Films commercial, “Ticket to Everywhere”, which screened nationwide in the U.S. and Canada in AMC, Cinemark, and B&B theaters, and conducting scoring sessions at Eastwood, Hollywood Scoring, Bandrika, and more. Yamada was also a music librarian intern at Warner Bros.

In 2026, his concert band work “An Apricot in the Clouds” was performed by The Symphonic Winds of the Pacific under the direction of Dr. Stephen Rochford. His other pieces for band, orchestra, big band, and chamber ensembles have been performed numerous times at his alma mater during undergrad, as well as in Orange County and his home state of Hawaii.

Yamada earned a Bachelor of Music in Composition, summa cum laude, from Chapman University, studying under Dr. Vera Ivanova, Dave Volpe, and Nolan Markey.
