OPEN GREENS is a piece written for hornist Mary Beth Orr. The multiphonic intervals at the beginning represent the openness of the scenery. The melody is simple at first, then rhythmically accelerates throughout. Finally, another open fifth multiphonic grinds everything to a halt, finishing the same way it started.
